“A Compelling Situation”
The Law
African governments in many countries have introduced legislation that requires religious leaders to have a theological education. They must have a certified copy of a Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Theology from a recognized theological institution or risk shutdown. Additionally, the local authorities require those seeking to register new churches or ministries to have theological academic credentials as well.
The Problem
Unfortunately, many religious organizations and churches, particularly in rural areas, lack access to educational institutions primarily due to a lack of financial resources.
The Solution
The Washington International Theological Seminary (WITS) is an Accredited International Distance Learning Program that is available entirely at “no charge”. WITS offers a quality theological education for Pastors, Ministers, and the Laity. Between 2018 and 2025, WITS has issued over 2,500 graduation documents. (All students are scholarship donor-supported)
